Explore the Göta Canal by bike!

Rent a bike at Bergs Slussar or in Borensberg and enjoy a ride along the Göta Canal’s beautiful towpath! You can return the bikes to either depot, regardless of where you rented them. You can use the bikes during the depot’s regular hours of operation.

Easy to Ride

Enjoy the round-trip route from Berg to Borensberg, a perfectly manageable day trip of about 42 km, where you’ll ride along the canal bank. You can also choose to bike just one leg of the route, about 21 km.

You’ll find beautiful natural scenery and the occasional watering hole to recharge your energy. Whether you’ve brought a picnic or want to sit down at a café table.

The route is easy to bike on—it’s a gravel path with almost no hills and a gravel surface. You might even run into the canal company’s sheep, which serve as both conservationists and lawn mowers.
